Do I have to use the insurance company's contractor for my repairs?

No, you are not obliged to use anyone you are not comfortable with! You may wish to source quotes from local builders, recommendations etc, the quote must be competitive (not necessarily lowest) and must "show value".

My insurers have offered me a cash settlement, should I accept?

We work for both Claim Services and directly for the Customer. In certain circumstances, cash settlements may be appropriate, but must be considered carefully before being accepted. You, as the policyholder, need to decide what is right for your needs. Ensure that you can actually have the repair and reinstatement work undertaken for the sum offered - we can provide a free quotation for these works. If further works are required (additional unforeseen items that are discovered after the repair works have commenced) you may find that you have accepted a cash settlement of the claim and are unable to recover any additional costs through your insurance company. With 20 years experience of undertaking Insurance Repair, Restoration & Remediation projects, we do our best to ensure we identify any potential problems from the outset.

What is a Loss Adjustor?

A Loss Adjustor works for or on behalf of the  insurance company, it is their job to settle the claim as for the least expense possible. Elite, once appointed deal directly with your loss adjustor making sure that no works are missed from the schedule.

What types of claim do you deal with?

We offer complete insurance repair, restoration and remediation services, be it water, flood, fire, smoke or damage caused by burglary. Whatever your requirements - we're ready to help.

What questions should ask when contacting builders directly for a quote?

If you decide to choose a builder you know or a local builder remember to ask the following questions: Are they experienced in insurance work?Fire and flood damage are very specialised work, not all builders have the expertise to deliver, Elite have carried out this type of repairs for many years. Ask to speak to several customers where the builder has carried out repairs that relate to your requirements. Please see our web site testimonials section, choose several, we will then arrange contact. Ask what kind of guarantee they offer? Elite offer a 12 month guarantee against faulty or defective workmanship. Elite work both as an approved contractor for insurance companies and also direct to the home owner, liaising directly with their insurance company
